Last week I was quoted in the blog entry “You Can Do It All: Tips from Entrepreneurial SuperMoms” on the Every Marketing Thing blog site hosted by Desert Rose Design. In the blog, I share my belief that being a mom makes me a better business owner (and better at anything else that I do). I have to be better. I don’t have time to waste.
I know when I first got pregnant, I couldn’t imagine being able to handle everything. I figured I’d be less of business owner, less of a household contributor, less of a wife, and generally someone who just couldn’t get as much done as she used to. Yet, instead of being “less,” I was actually “more.” I’ve discovered that as an Entrepreneur, being a mom is not a limiting factor, it’s a benefit. I have to be creative. I have to know my priorities. I no longer have time to muck around with the little, unimportant stuff. Being a mom has enabled me to improve my prioritization, time management skills, and ability to be present in the moment in ways I didn’t think were possible before I had kids.
What about for you? How has being a mom improved your capabilities?
